Enkhtuya Hotgo
Enkhtuya was born a little less than 30 summers ago to the Hotgo tribe on the Azim Steppe, to her mother, Chakha. Her father is unknown, but not of the Hotgo, resulting in her white hair unlike that of the rest of her tribe. From a young age, Enkhtuya trained as a warrior, wielding an axe often as large as she was. Despite being told she was not ready, she undertook Bardam's trials at the age of seventeen, wanting to impress her comrades. She accomplished the feat, though not without some injury, and gained herself a reputation not only for martial prowess but pride and recklessness.
When she came of age, Enkhtuya was betrothed to a man named Maral, several years her senior but kind and calm - her family hoping he would temper her rash nature. Enkhtuya accepted the betrothal quite happily, but on the condition that she could set out on her own adventure first. Reluctantly, Maral agreed to allow her to go. The young woman journeyed to Eorzea, following in the footsteps of several tribemates who had travelled there some time before, in the hopes of finding out what happened to them. While on this voyage, Enkhtuya found that a lot of the people she met had trouble pronouncing her given name, so she chose the name Ruby, after the Ruby Sea, to use instead.
After some time in Eorzea, she learned the fate of her tribemates, sacrificed to summon Alexander in Dravania. Her adventure complete, she set out to return to the Steppe - but shortly before her departure, she received the news that the Hotgo tribe had been massacred, though it would be several more years before she learned the details of the slaughter and which tribe would be her eventual sworn enemies. Enkhtuya chose to remain in Eorzea and do her best to forget her life before.
